News: Trends & Geographic Patterns in Drug & Synthetic Opioid Overdose Deaths — US 2013–2019

This is a 5-page report published by the CDC in February 2021 which provides detailed information regarding deaths involving synthetic opioids which largely consist of illicitly manufactured Fentanyl. The report analyzed trends in age-adjusted overdose death rates involving synthetic opioids, psychostimulants with abuse potential (ex. methamphetamine & amphetamine), cocaine, heroin, & prescription opioids during 2013–2019, as well as geographic patterns in synthetic opioid-&-psychostimulant-involved deaths during 2018–2019.
