Sworn-in to the Peace Corps Namibia: Thang Nguyen, International Liaison for Africa

We are incredibly proud of Thang Nguyen, our International Liaison for Africa who was just sworn-in to the Peace Corps Namibia!

At a ceremony for the 51st class of Volunteers in Okahandja on November 17, Peace Corps Country Director Elizabeth Anderson administered the Peace Corps Pledge, while Jessica Long, the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy Namibia, administered the Peace Corps Volunteer Oath. The keynote Speech was delivered by Honorable Minister Dr. Kalumbi Shangula from the Ministry of Health & Social Services-Namibia.

Thang will serve the Namibian people for two years in communities across the country & facilitate on the Community Heath & HIV/AIDS Project. When asked why he chose to dedicate 27 months to serving in Namibia, his response was “I joined the Peace Corps because I was passionate in HIV/AIDS work and doing this allowed me to join the international effort to combat AIDS in the community.

We couldn’t be more proud of Thang Nguyen! Harm Reduction Saves Lives 💙💜💗
