About Us:
Harm Reduction Circle is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization (also known as an NGO) based in Irvine, California. Our mission is to reduce overdose & other drug-related harms using evidence-based strategies in numerous underserved populations. Programming includes overdose prevention outreach & education, overdose response, Naloxone distribution either using mail-based & mobile distribution programs. Notable accomplishments include providing overdose response training to 13,000 individuals & supplying more than 23,000 doses of Naloxone, & documented 171 successful overdose reversals & providing harm reduction services & education at more than 55+ concerts, music festivals, & other nightlife events.
Responsibilities:
Actively seek, identify, & recognize external opportunities that present viable funding & match the mission & priorities of Harm Reduction Circle.
Prepare & write grant proposals, applications, & reports for government agencies, private, and&corporate foundations to secure funding for general operating & program-specific support.
Key duties involve writing comprehensive & compelling proposals, submitting timely reports, keeping accurate records, & mobilizing the team to contribute.
Collaborate with board members, directors, & other individuals to obtain relevant content required to write narratives for proposals & reports, including the preparation of grant forms & the assembly of budgets & supporting materials.
Ensure grant measurements & outcomes are monitored & goals are met for each grant.
Lead the content development of case statements, annual reports, & stewardship reports.
Create partnerships with other businesses, individuals, & organizations, including sponsorship opportunities.
The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, able to work independently while communicating frequently with team members & is comfortable managing multiple competing deadlines.
Experience:
Associates degree or higher (preferred)
Applicants are required to have at least a year of experience
Strong interpersonal skills to manage collaboration throughout the organization
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Compensation:
This is an unpaid volunteer position. Currently, Harm Reduction Circle is a volunteer-run program. In the future this opportunity may lead to a full-time, grant funded, benefit earning position once adequate funding is available, but this is not guaranteed.
